HP joins forces with WWF in climate change bid

Printer supplies
Printer supplies giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) has joined forces with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to help tackle climate change.

The print specialist, which is world-renowned for its inkjet cartridges, printer supplies and IT solutions, has pledged to allocate over $2 million (£1 million) to the WWF to establish three climate change projects.

Analysis, research and data collection are the main areas that the initiative will be focusing on.

The Epicenter for Climate Conservation will focus on advancing climate adaptation and resiliency strategies, while Climate Witness will see an online forum created to raise global awareness of the consequences of climate change.

The third project is Information and Communication Technology Innovation as a Driver of Climate Change Solutions.

Pat Tiernan, vice president of corporate, social and environmental responsibility for HP, said: "These initiatives are part of HP's comprehensive philanthropic and environmental strategy that uses technology to help reduce our own environmental impact, as well as that of our customers, partners and suppliers.

"Our contribution to these projects will deliver measurable results that we hope will encourage action from corporations, individuals and governments around the world."

Energy efficiency is a priority for printer supplies expert HP, which plans to reduce its global energy use by 20 per cent in four years time.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of printer supplies.
